This afternoon, the cast of Ryan Gosling's directorial debut, Lost River, posed together on the famous Croisette at the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival. Ian De Caestecker, Matt Smith, Reda Kateb, Christina Hendricks and Ryan Gosling all appeared under the blazing Cannes sun for a few photos and laughs.
Un Certain Regard
The Cannes Film Festival is most often associated with the festival's most coveted prize, the Palme d'Or, but have you ever heard of the "Un Certain Regard" category? This small group of films is chosen as part of the prestigious Official Selection and was introduced to Cannes back in 1998 to recognize young talent and encourage new bold and audacious works. Gosling's work will compete against 18 other films for the prize.
There haven't been too many details released about Lost River, but here's what we do know: In the film, Christina Hendricks plays a single mother who is swept into a dark and dangerous underworld when her son, Bones (Ian de Caestecker), discovers a road that leads him to an underwater town.
First time director (and Canadian!) Ryan Gosling looked sharp in a crisp white and blue shirt with the sleeves rolled all the way up and slim brown slacks. British actor Matt Smith (that's Dr. Who to some of you!) wore a checked blazer with light blue shirt and navy blue trousers. Reda Kateb and Ian de Caestecker kept things casual in t-shirts and jeans.
Meanwhile, Christina Hendricks opted for a black blouse with a cinched in waist and tight black trousers. The actress is known for her polarizing red carpet style, so we can't wait to see what she wears to tonight's premiere. That said, we simply loved her minimalist photo call attire.
