Subtle, bold, colored, or graphic: these days, there's no shortage of cat eye looks to try! Over the last few seasons, makeup artists have become braver and bolder with the cat eye, and so a hot new trend was born: "negative space" liner is a graphic look that gives nod to the 60s but maintains a modern edge. By disconnecting the lines and showing some skin, your eyeliner resembles an art form more than it does a makeup look.
So, want to try this runway-ready look? Then follow our easy tutorial!
For a perfect cat eye that stays in place, start by washing your face before applying eyeshadow primer to your lids and lower lash lines. Next, apply a wash of nude shadow or transluscent powder over your lids to create a smooth base for your liner.
Use Superstar liquid liner to draw a fine line from the inner corner of your top lash line to the outer corner, thickening the line as you move outward to create a classic cat eye flick.
Next, apply the tip of your liner at the corner of your flick and drag it upward, 2-3 milimeters above your creaseline. Stop the line once your eyeliner is above your inner corner.
Finally, finish by tracing the lower lash line, again thickening the liner as you reach the outer corner, joining it with your flick.
