NEW YEARS EVE MAKEUP: 3 LOOKS IN 5 MINUTES OR LESS
SCOTCH TAPE + BRIGHT EYE SHADOW
Re-create a backstage look for New Year's Eve without any professional skills – all you need is an unexpected eye shadow shade and the magic of Scotch Tape you used a few days ago to wrap presents. Place a strip of tape at a 45-degree angle on the outer corner of each eye. Then, use a small brush to apply a bright cream eye shadow, which can also be created by dampening a shadow brush and dipping it in a powder shadow.
Bonus tip: Create the eye look first, and then you're free to clean up any smudges with a cotton swab before moving on to the rest of your face.
REPURPOSE BLUSH AS ROSE GOLD EYE MAKEUP
Don't let labels fool you – you can use any makeup product you like anywhere. In a pinch, use a healthy dose of your go-to pink blush in the crease of your eyes. Then, apply a shimmery brown or gold shade onto the rest of your lid to create a gorgeous rose gold look. This will create subtle definition and when paired with an equally shimmery brown or gold lipstick, will pass as a beautiful monochromatic look!
USE SHIMMERY EYE SHADOW AS AN ALL-OVER HIGHLIGHT
Another multipurpose trick? Convert your favourite eye shadow into a last-minute highlighter, and use it all over your face. Every eye palette contains at least one iridescent, white-gold shade. Dip your finger into your favourite sheer, pearlescent pan, and deposit all the pigment your heart desires on the tops of your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, and on your Cupid's bow.
For added glam, wear a shimmery gold shadow or liner along your lower lash line, finished with a touch of mascara on your upper lashes. Then, apply a cream gold shadow onto your lips as lipstick. Brighten it up by applying highlighter or iridescent shadow onto your lips for an all-over highlighted look!
