With the various amount of colourful makeup trends, lipsticks and eye shadows on the beauty market, the significance of our eyebrows is often overlooked. And while most of us know that the key to great brows is fullness (along with the correct shape for your face), actually achieving that flawless, full, Cara Delevingne look can be a little more difficult. There are various gels, pencils, brushes and tools that do the trick, but knowing which products to use at the right moment – and for your brows – can be a bit confusing.
That's why Get The Look is going back to basics to show you how to properly fill in your brows in order to achieve a flawless, sculpted complexion. So without further ado, read on and follow our 6 simple steps!
BACK TO BASICS: HOW TO FILL IN YOUR BROWS
STEP 1: BRUSH
The first step in achieving flawless brows is to use a brow brush to comb your hairs up to see where they need to be filled in, starting from the front and working towards the tail of the brow. Brush in an up and outward motion so that the hairs fall neatly into place.
STEP 2: MEASURE IT
Use the end of your brow pencil to measure your brows in order to ensure a perfect shape. Your best brow aligns with the inner tear duct with an arch that's about 11 o'clock from your inner corners. The arch of your brow will also align with the side of your nostril when the pencil is turned on an angle.
STEP 3: SHADE
Next, use a brow gel or pencil that goes underneath the hairs to fill in density. Concentrate on areas where there are sparse spots, gently shading. Make sure the tail of your brow is fuller than the front of your brow, creating an ombre effect.
STEP 4: ADD DETAIL
Then, add a little bit more fullness to the front of the brow for that supermodel thickness, but make sure your ombre effect stays in tact! Use this opportunity to fill in anymore sparse areas of the brow using a brow pencil that matches your hair colour.
STEP 5: SET
Finish up by setting your brows with a clear brow gel, combing the hairs up because you want to show that hair texture. This will lock your look in place and voila! Your brows are done!
STEP 6: CLEAN UP
To give your brows the appearance of a flawless finish with clean lines, apply a streak of concealer that is slightly lighter than your skin tone directly underneath and above your brow. Use your fingers or a thin shadow brush to blend the concealer into your skin. This will create clean lines and a flawless finish!
