22-year-old Hungarian model and actress, Barbara Palvin , is known for her refined and simple sense of style. But as of late, she's been showing off an edgier side that's giving us some serious beauty inspiration for fall 2016. Exhibit A: The L'Oreal Paris ambassador attended the New York City premiere of Goat earlier last week wearing a black one-shoulder dress with side cut-outs and a tousled hairstyle that added a bit of sex appeal to her look.
And as for her most recent look, Barbara attended the 14th annual Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party in Malibu, California this past weekend wearing a black mini slip dress that nods to this season's boudoir-inspired trends. She layered the sultry slip on top of a sheer black bralette, and paired it with a cool black denim jacket that gave her carefree look added edge. She accessorized with a black choker and black sequin booties that turned her ensemble from grunge to glam.
And while her outfit was anything but boring, her makeup and hairstyle amped up the look even further, inspiring our next beauty routine.
BARBARA PALVIN: BRIGHT LIPS AND A MESSY BUN
Like many other actresses and it-girls (see: Frieda Pinto), Barbara has decided to ignore fall's quintessential dark and gloomy colour palette in favour of something a little more cheery: bright pink lipstick. She kept summer's heat alive by contouring her complexion with a bronzing powder that gave her the perfect sun-kissed glow (not to mention, the contrast made her blue eyes pop)!
She completed the look with a swipe of liner on her upper lids and a set voluminous lashes that further enhanced her beautiful baby blues and complimented her sultry black ensemble.
To re-create her look, here's what you'll need to do:
Step 1: Unify your base with a cushion foundation that will provide a slight glow and full coverage. Press the pad into the formula and rub it along your complexion to cover any redness or unwanted spots.
Step 2: Using a contour kit, use the darker shade of bronzer to sculpt your cheekbones, temples and forehead just beneath your hairline, sides of your nose and chin. Use the highlighting powder to create shine on the bridge of your nose, chin and high points of your cheekbones.
Step 3: Using a black liquid eyeliner, draw a thin line from the inner corners of your upper lids, to the outer corners, keeping the line inside of your lid area (no cat eyes!).
Step 4: Coat your upper lashes only with a voluminous mascara. Incorporate a set of falsies into the mix for extra large lashes!
Step 5: Opt for a bright pink or slightly coral shade of lipstick of your choice, and coat your lips for an eye-catching pout. For the illusion of a plumper, fuller pout, line your lips with lip liner before applying lipstick.
The one thing we love about Barbara's sense in hairstyles? They're fun and carefree, yet cool and sophisticated and can be worn for a number of versatile occasions – not to mention, super wearable and easy to re-create! This time around, Barbara traded in her signature tousled waves for a cool messy bun that showed off her accessories and let her bright lips take centre stage.
To get this look, start off with messy hair (you can even make it messier by spraying a dose of L'Oreal's Matt & Messy spray into damp locks). Pull your hair up to the top of your head, then secure it into a ponytail with an elastic. Using a fine tooth comb, back comb the hair within the ponytail to further enhance those messy pieces and give it a bit of volume. Then, wrap the ponytail messily around the base of the elastic, and secure with bobby pins. Pull a small strand of hair out near your ears to achieve that carefree vibe.
Finish off with hairspray and voila! You've created your very own Barbara Palvin-approved look!
