What mascara should you be using?

Beauty advice: How to choose your mascara

Choosing the right mascara can be a daunting task for even the most beauty-obsessed women. As with foundation, lipstick, and nail polish, the "best" product is the one that's best for you, and your choice will largely depend on what works best with your lashes. Your everyday mascara shouldn't be chosen simply for its color or packaging, but rather what qualities it brings to your look. So, how do we choose?

What mascara for my lashes?

I have straight lashes

Are you one of those women who swear by an eyelash curler and volumizing mascara? Rest easy, we've found a solution! If you've got straight, thin lashes that don't naturally hold much of a curl, you'll need a curling mascara. Using a curling mascara, you can apply the product from the roots of your lash in an upwards motion and accentuate the natural curve.

I have long lashes

Chances are, you don't even know how lucky you are to have naturally XXL lashes! For you, mascara is less a necessity than it is a way of adding definition to your eyes and highlighting the lovely feature. Use a volumizing mascara to help those naturally long lashes appear thicker- just one coat should do the trick!

I have short lashes

A lengthening mascara will do the trick for those of you with short lashes. A trick of the trade? Using an eyelash curler between applications of mascara will help your lashes curve upward, which also helps them appear longer. Make sure to move the mascara wand in a zig zag motion during application to coat your lash from top to bottom.
