From acne, to wrinkles and blackheads, there are many unwanted issues that most of us have dealt with at one time or another. But one of the worst beauty woes? Waking up with prominent dark circles under our eyes that just won't seem to disappear no matter how much product we slather on. Whether you didn't get enough sleep, or you were simply cursed with permanent tired eyes, dark circles are an issue that almost everyone experiences – and a problem that almost everyone would like to free themselves of.
Fortunately, there are ways to transform your eyes from fatigued to fabulous in just a few steps.
WHAT CAUSES DARK CIRCLES?
Dark circles under the eyes are often due to a disruption of the lymph tissue, and can be attributed to poor circulation. Depending on your skin tone, dark circles can come in many different colours including black, blue, and even yellow. Thanks to colour-correcting concealers, you can cover up just about any type of dark circle!
Accentuated by fatigue, smoking, alcohol consumption, or a high-fat diet, dark circles come with living an unhealthy lifestyle. Pro tip: what you put in your body will show through from the outside!
HOW TO BEAT DARK CIRCLES
The easiest (and cheapest) way to get rid of dark circles? Drink about 2 litres of water per day to keep your skin hydrated and refreshed.
If you want to amp up your under eye circle routine, you can also try a vitamin care treatment rich in draining elements like Vitamin E and Vitamin K for the under eye area. Our suggestion? Try a treatment that contains Diakalyte, like Collagen Filler Illuminator.
OR COVER WITH MAKEUP...
To get rid of your under eye circles once and for all, start off by applying a translucent powder under your eyes. This will allow foundation to hold better and will clear up the effected area concealing dark circles (this process is also known as 'baking' your makeup!). Next, unify your skin with a foundation, covering your under eye area gently making sure not to irritate the area any further.
After you've applied foundation and unified your base, use a colour correcting concealer or a nude formula that is a shade lighter than your skin tone. This will brighten up the area and help to conceal dark circles. Use a beauty blender to blend the formula into your skin and voila! Dark circles, no more!
If it still appears as though you've just hopped out of bed, stay away from dark shadow shades when glamming-up the rest of your eye. Dark shades will only accentuate the hollow effect that surrounds the eyes, making dark circles appear even worse than before. Instead, opt for a clear or golden shade and a bright lip to draw attention away from your eyes!
