As detailed and precise as it can be, eye makeup can be one of the most difficult parts of applying makeup to get right. Knowing how to execute a few key techniques, however, can totally transform not only the way your makeup looks, but the way your face looks!
Have small and/or tired eyes that you wish looked a little bigger and brighter? Fret not- we've got you covered! Get the Look has put together a simple 5-step beauty routine to widen your gaze. Ladies, grab your brushes and lets get started!
Step one: define your brows
Thick and unruly eyebrows can truly overwhelm the face and shrink the appearance of your eyes. Before applying makeup, begin the transformation by grooming your brows and then filling them in with a brow pencil or powder.
Second step: a touch of light
To give the illusion of bigger eyes, we'll need to play with shadow and light. A light-reflecting concealer or nude eyeshadow is your best ally for this! Simply apply the product to the inner corners of your eyelid and blend outward slightly.
Third step: enhance your eyelids
Lighten up your eyes by applying a pale, shimmery color all over your eyelids. If you're attracted to dark colors or want to create a smoky eye, limit the product to the outer corners of your eyes so as not to overwhelm the look.
Fourth step: define the lashline
Using eyeliner is an excellent way to make your eyelashes look thicker and your eyes wider! Use a black or dark brown liner along the outer halves of your top and bottom lash lines.
Fifth step: give wings to your look
One more small detail and you'll be all set! Choose a mascara that will lengthen your lashes as well as create volume. Focus on the ends of your lashes for a fluttery look.
