With the opening of the 69th Cannes Film Festival, comes a plethora of extravagant gowns, enviable hairstyles, and makeup looks that us normal people can only attempt to achieve. Cannes newcomer Bella Hadid is amongst the stylish crew this year, and has come armed with a sense of elegance and style that we can't wait to recreate.
After making a grand entrance at last week's Met Gala in a custom Givenchy Haute Couture strapless gown, the supermodel attended the Café Society premiere and the 69th Cannes Film Festival opening night gala where she switched up her dark and demure look in favour of a more classic, feminine mermaid silhouette gown embroidered with tulle.
The 19 year-old matched went for a sun-kissed makeup look and sleek ponytail to match her golden gown. Want to achieve Bella's elegant hair and makeup look? Get The Look has got your back!
To achieve Bella's sleek, flawless ponytail, start by spraying your hair with protective heat spray, while heating up a flat iron. Separate your hair into two sections (one at the top, one at the bottom), and secure the top section with an elastic. Run the flat iron through the bottom section from root to tip, release the top section of hair and repeat.
Once your hair is completely straight, spray a small bit of L'Oreal's Invisible Liquid'Gel formula through the lengths of your hair to keep strands together and make them appear slightly wet. Brush the formula through your hair.
Use a large brush to comb your hair back into a ponytail at the crown of your head. Secure with an elastic.
Take a small strand of hair from the inside of your ponytail and wrap it twice around the base of your ponytail to hide the elastic, and create a twist effect. Finish off by spraying strong hold hairspray through the length of your ponytail, and then onto a fine tooth comb. Run the comb from your forehead to the base of your ponytail to ensure perfection.
Are you loving Bella's sun-kissed look just as much as we are? Start by evening out your skin tone with a cushion foundation. Once you've created a unified base for your makeup, use a highlighter pencil or liquid illuminator to highlight the high points of your cheekbones, middle of your forehead, chin, and bridge of nose.
To achieve Bella's sun-kissed, natural glow, use a blush brush to apply a heavy amount of powdered bronzer to your cheekbones, jaw line, temples, and sides of your nose.
Next, use a reddish-brown eye shadow to cover your entire eye lid and lower lash line, creating a shadow effect that matches your bronzed cheeks. In this case, you can even substitute your bronzer for eye shadow to ensure a perfect match like Bella's.
Next, use a white shimmery shadow to highlight the inner corners of your eyes. Coat your eyes with black mascara for a slight hint of drama.
To finish off, coat your lips with a subtle nude or pink lipstick, and cover with gloss. And there you have it! You're red-carpet ready!
