Cannes Day 7: the latest L'Oreal muses to take over the red carpet

by Paige Exell -

On last week's Cannes red carpet, we saw a gorgeous display of simple black and white gowns, gold embellished numbers, and looks that seemed as though they came straight from the pages of a fairy-tale. This week, while some of the muses kept things feminine and romantic with up-dos and bows, others brought a little bit more edge to the red carpet.

Last night, L'Oreal ambassadors Barbara Palvin , Natasha Poly, Karlie Kloss, Lara Stone, Bianca Balti , and Luma Grothe attended the premiere of Julieta, and made sure to bring their A-game with them.

It seems as though romance was in the air on last night's red carpet – but not in the way you would think. While George and Amal Clooney were the epitome of romance on La Croisette last week, muses Barbara Palvin, Lara Stone, and Natasha Poly gave the term a whole new meaning with their romance-inspired gowns.

While Barbara opted for a soft pink lace gown with ruffled sleeves, a plunging neckline, and a complimentary black bow that showed off her slim waist, Natasha Poly went with a more conventionally romantic number that featured a charming floral pattern and sweetheart neckline.

Meanwhile, Lara Stone stunned in an ivory tulle gown adorned with golden yellow embellishments, a black waistband, and ladylike up-do that complimented her high neckline. All three muses sported an old-world up-do that made for the perfect finishing touch to their romantic looks.

While Miss Fame was the first to rock a fabulous, unnatural hair colour on the red carpet, Luma Grothe followed suit with a shade of her own. The L'Oreal muse attended last night's premiere in a sheer, embellished gown that showed off her high-waist under garments – one of the season's hottest trends! She added a touch of turquoise to her beautiful brown locks, and left them tousled and waved for an edgy, mermaid-chic type of look.

If this is only her first look on the 69th Cannes red carpet, we can't wait to see what else Luma has in store!

For her first 69th Cannes Film Festival appearance, Bianca Balti stepped out wearing a black spaghetti strap slip-dress that kissed the floor as she walked, and gave us a serious case of '90s nostalgia.

She paired her dress with minimal makeup, and an up-do that makes us want to go grab our chokers and brown lipstick, and head through a time machine!

We first saw metallic appear on the spring-summer 2016 runways at Vetements, Saint Laurent, and Sonia Rykiel. Soon after, at this year's Manus x Machina themed Met Gala, celebs by the likes of Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts , and Lara Stone had their turn at rocking the bold look. And while we may have seen the trend countless times before, supermodel and L'Oreal muse Karlie Kloss , managed to add her own personal twist to this shiny look.

The blonde muse made her first red carpet appearance at Cannes 2016 wearing a gold and silver long-sleeved metallic gown with a single slit that showed off her long legs. Karlie paired her look overtop of a black, collared blouse, and wore a black bow in her hair that added the perfect feminine touch to her metallic dress.

Stay tuned to see what the L'Oreal muses will wear next on the red carpet!
