Move over, Victoria's Secret Fashion Show: Karl Lagerfeld just showed his pre-fall 2017 collection for Chanel in the city of lights. For the major event, Lagerfeld enlisted model it-girls Lily-Rose Depp and Sofia Richie, both of whom made their major fashion runway debuts in the presentation at the Ritz Hotel. The two teenage models were joined by Cara Delevingne and singer Pharrell.
The runway was complete with hair netting, shimmery gold skirt crop-top combinations, structured silhouettes, and of course, tweed. The creations were gorgeous as always, but we couldn't help but notice the beauty trends on the runway, as well.
Read on to find out which beauty trends you'll be seeing more of this season!
BEAUTY TRENDS FROM THE AUTUMN 2016/17 CHANEL RUNWAY SHOW
Dark plum and red lips may be the quintessential fall/winter shade for your lips, but Karl Lagerfeld proved otherwise during his latest runway showing. Models like Cara Delevingne and Lily-Rose Depp took the runway wearing warm and bright shades of coral lipstick against matte complexions that were warmed up with pink blush. Give your dark, wintry shades a break this season and cure your winter blues with a warm, coral lip!
Hair accessories have made a major comeback in 2016, with A-list celebrities adopting them in many forms on the red carpet. Now, Karl Lagerfeld has solidified the return of hair accessories, after models paraded down his runway wearing floral adornments in black, white and bright coral (to match the lips!)
He also reminded us of the black ribbon trend that has recently taken over runways and red carpets, showing off models that wore their hair in low ponytails and tied up with a black ribbon around it. Simple and chic!
White eyeliner is usually used as a base or a way to brighten up your eyes at the inner corners or lower water line. But now, makeup artists at Chanel are challenging this beauty rule, having placed bright white liner along models upper lids. The rest of the eye was left bare, with the exception of a touch of mascara on the upper lashes.
Luckily for us, ponytails are a trend that's here to stay! Whether you curl it for a feminine touch or loop it for a look that's more futuristic, play around with your low ponytail this season until you find a look that suits you best!
Underneath lids coated with white liner, models like Lily-Rose Depp sported grey smoky eyes that created a sultry contrast. To get this look, apply a dark grey or black shadow onto your lids, blending the colour up towards your brow bone and into your crease for added drama. Once you've finished with the shadow, apply your white liner on top and you're runway-ready!
