Last night, L'Oreal muses gathered on the black carpet at the L'Oreal Paris Gold Obsession party as a part of Paris Fashion Week. The night saw a sea of black and shimmery metallic worn by some of our favourite celebs and L'Oreal Paris ambassadors including Karlie Kloss , Natasha Poly , Barbara Palvin , Soo Joo Park , Bianca Balti and more. And while most opted for little black dresses and complimenting gold accents and makeup, one L'Oreal muse went in a different direction.
Blonde bombshell and supermodel Doutzen Kroes wore an ensemble that proved to be a refreshing change from the chic black dresses. Instead, she wore black and gold shimmery metallic trousers and a matching blazer, layered on top of an equally shiny gold blouse. She accessorized with gold bangles on her wrists and black heeled sandals on her feet. What made her stand out most? Her bold choice of makeup.
Read on to find out what Doutzen wore on her face and how you can achieve a similar look for yourself!
DOUTZEN KROES: WINGED LINER AND RED LIPS
Rather than pairing her shimmery ensemble with a matching gold shadow or metallic lipstick, Doutzen opted for more classically glam look: red lips and winged liner. For added sex appeal, she wore her hair down and tousled, brushing against her shoulders. Inspired by her seriously bold look? Here's how you can re-create it!
Step 1: When it comes to applying makeup, always start with a foundation (after moisturizing, of course!). For her appearance on the black red carpet, Doutzen went with a matte finish foundation that gave her look an added glam factor. Do the same by opting for a matte finish foundation, and rub it into your skin with a beauty sponge or brush.
Step 2: After you've perfected your base, set your makeup with a loose translucent powder. Gently sweep the powder over your complexion with a fluffy brush and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Brush off any excess powder and you'll be left with the perfect photo-finish face!
Step 3: To create a slight flush like Doutzen's, apply a small dose of pink powder blush onto your cheeks, moving upwards towards your temples.
Step 4: To begin the eyes, apply a light layer of shimmery gold eye shadow onto your lids. Apply the same shade onto your lower lash line with an angled brush to create an all-around glittery look. Then, using a black liquid liner, draw a line on your upper lids from the inner to outer corner, thickening the line as you move outwards, and winging the liner towards your temples once you reach the outer corners.
Step 5: Create full lashes to further enhance your eyes using a voluminous mascara on your upper and lower lashes. Move your hand in a back and forth motion to avoid clumping.
Step 6: Last but certainly not least, choose a vibrant red lipstick of your choice and coat your lids multiple times for long lasting wear and an eye-catching pout!
Doutzen's tousled hairstyle is perfect for just about any occasion, whether it's the red carpet or the office. To get this look, start off with damp hair and get your curling irons ready!
Step 1: Before applying any heat to your hair, apply a matt & messy spray to damp hair and scrunch it through using your fingers. Let your hair air dry while you heat up a large barrel curling iron.
Step 2: Once your hair is completely dry, use a curling iron to carelessly curl a few large (and small) locks of hair at the middle and back of your head. Curl two strands that surround your face on each side.
Step 3: For added texture and volume, use a flat-iron to create blunt edges and waves. Place a section of hair between the iron, and move it downwards, moving your hand inwards then outwards as you go down the strand.
Step 4: Spray your hair with a volumizing hairspray then use your hands to tousle it up!
