Elle Women in Hollywood Awards: Miranda Kerr, Nina Dobrev + more!

by Samantha Hunt -

As one of the most celebrity-packed events of the year, the 22nd Annual Elle Women in Hollywood Awards lit up Los Angeles last night (October 19) with the sheer number of gorgeous stars in attendance!

The ceremony recognised the work of countless talented actresses from around the world, from Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson to Suffragette's Carey Mulligan, bringing style icons in abundance to the red carpet. Let's take a look at the key trends we spotted from the evening...

A dream in cream

Many of the leading ladies of this year's Women in Hollywood Awards kept their outfits soft, floating and pale by choosing blushed tones of pink, blue and cream for the red carpet event.

We loved Nikki Reed's white strapless cocktail dress with its silver embroidery and feminine shape, but we also couldn't get enough of Jenna Dewan-Tatum's cream mini-dress with long sleeves, a high neckline and silver belt embellishment. Our favorite part of Jenna's look was definitely her gorgeously smoky winged makeup look, making her green eyes shine!

The pantsuits

In contrast to Nina Dobrev 's pink and girly cocktail dress and Zoe Kravitz's shimmering cream metallic crop + skirt combo, an androgynous tailored-pantsuit craze definitely took the red carpet by storm last night! Australian model Miranda Kerr stepped out in a baby-blue ensemble, rocking the shade right from her jacket to her sexy crop top, and down to her pointed-toe heels!

Modern Family star Sarah Hyland chose to team her checkered tailored pants with a glittering sequined black top for the evening to give her sophisticated-chic look a touch of evening glitz!

The LBDs

From one extreme to the other: if the stars of ceremony weren't wearing light, blushed tones for the evening there was only one other option in the form of the classic LBD! Actress and L'Oréal Paris ambassador Andie MacDowell chose to match her dress and makeup to her rich dark hair, opting for a tassled black number and sultry defined eye makeup, proving she can still work the red carpet with style!

Another one of our gorgeous ambassadors, Zoe Saldana, also chose black as her main color for the evening, but shook up her ensemble with pops of yellow and red - the former from her gorgeous A-line leather skirt, the latter from her warm, shimmering lipstick.
