In the run up to Halloween, what could be better than a blood-chilling, gothic horror film to get us into the spirit? Which is exactly what Crimson Peak promises to be, bringing together a stunning cast to take on this 'haunted house' narrative with a spooky new twist!
October 14 saw the film's premiere hit New York City, drawing its stellar cast - including Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska - out onto the red carpet for the evening. Among the glittering A-listers we spotted one of our very own stars, Torontonian Emily Coutts, turning heads with her gorgeously put-together ensemble: we simply had to take a closer look!
Crimson Peak sees Mia Wasikowska play a budding young author, Edith Cushing, who falls in love with and marries Thomas Sharpe, played by Hiddleston. So far, so good! However, it is only when Edith goes to live with Thomas and his cold and mysterious sister, Lucile (Jessica Chastain), that things start to go amiss and the ghosts of the past seem set to haunt them...
Get the look
Emily shone at the NYC premiere in a pretty white cocktail dress with floral patterns and netted layers of fabric. We especially loved the cut of her dress, with its plunging neckline and its voluminous skirt which fell a few inches about the knee: sexy yet sophisticated!
With her warm red locks and shoulder-length hair cut, it looks like we have a rival lookalike to Emily's own co-star Jessica Chastain! Emily opted for a deep side-part and soft curls for the evening, tucking one side behind her ear to show off some glittering drop earrings: you already have your red carpet A-game down to perfection, Emily!
Finally, the Canadian topped off her ensemble with a glowing makeup look. She chose to give some heat to her complexion with a dusting of bronzer in the hollows of her cheeks, providing a contrast with a touch of illuminator on top of her cheekbones and just under the brow line.
Emily then used liquid eyeliner to coat her lash line, working the application brush right into the tearduct and across the lid to the outer lashes, and switching to a soft pencil liner for the lower lashes. The star then added a hint of gold eyeshadow both above and below her eye for an eye-popping shimmering touch, and finished with mascara on her top lashes and a coat of pink lip stick. Fabulous!
