Fashion Trend: Animal print for fall/winter 2016/17

by Paige Exell -

With winter quickly approaching, Get The Look has started to think about some of the fashion and accessory trends that will help us brave the cold. And while fur accents, oversized coats and stylish hats are an obvious choice, celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Demi Lovato have introduced us to an old school wardrobe staple that's been re-invented to go with more contemporary looks: Animal print.

That's right, both A-listers have recently been spotted out and about wearing leopard printed coats, dresses and skirts, giving us a new print inspiration for the season. But like any prints, bold leopard prints can be difficult to pull off for everyday life. That's why Get The Look is taking inspiration from Kendall Jenner and Demi Lovato's latest looks to give you 4 ways to wear the print in an updated way this season.

If you're looking for an edgy way to accessorize your leopard printed (whatever it may be), take notes from Kendall Jenner. The 21-year-old supermodel paired her leopard printed slip dress with a matching printed coat, choker, shades and heeled combat boots for a super cool '90s-inspired look. The best part about this look is that it allows you to keep your hair and makeup super subdued so that all attention is on your outfit!

Kendall's favourite way to embrace this season's leopard trend? A cool jacket, of course! The supermodel was spotted wearing three different leopard printed coats on three different occasions. For an easy way to spice up a white t-shirt, throw on a printed blazer that will add just the right amount of edge to your look. Then, when temperatures drop, opt for a leopard printed faux fur coat that will keep you warm and stylish this season!

Like combat boots, pairing your leopard printed pieces with leather is an easy way to appear effortlessly cool. Kendall layered her printed blazer over a white t-shirt, then paired it with cut-out leather pants, a choker, Vans sneakers and sunglasses for a look that gave us some serious out envy!

Demi Lovato has also been spotted out and about wearing her own version of this season's leopard trend. And like Kendall, the singer prefers a matching leopard-on-leopard look that makes a serious fashion statement. If you're feeling adventurous, copy Demi's look and a pair a cool leather jacket with a plain black tee, matching printed skirt and black heels!
