Looking back at photos from Toronto Fashion Week A/W 2013, we noticed a few recurring trends that could easily translate to nail art. White, black, and matte finishes are staples this season, but have you considered metallic silver, oxblood, or even symbols? Stay stylish all winter long with these nail art ideas!
Metallic: Silver metallics were seen on the runways of Chloe Comme Parris, Line Knitwear, and Duy. This color is super versatile and modern, but ethereal and romantic at the same time. You can also choose from a variety of nail polish finishes (frost, glitter, or holographic) for different effects. Mixed metals are also a huge trend for winter 2013, so pair your silver nails with gold rings for fingers that are dressed to impress!
Oxblood: Oxblood is a gorgeous shade of reddish-plum that has been popping up all over the place and solidifying itself as a critical winter shade to have in your wardrobe, fashion and beauty-wise! Fashion houses Ashtiani and Mackage helped solidy the color's place by making it an imperative part of their 2013 collections. It's not just for your clothes though! As the model above shows us, oxblood looks incredible on lips and nails, too.
Grunge: If you live... well, anywhere that's not under a rock, you may have noticed grunge is making a comeback. From flannel shirts and smudgy black kohl eye makeup to leather jackets and studs- the grunge look is in. Once again, Chloe Comme Paris and Mackage let us know what's hot this winter. Use black polish to draw symbols or letters on your nails and then cover with a clear topcoat.
If you really wanted to be bold, you could even use all three of these looks on your nails at once! Have fun!
