After loading your makeup bag up with smoky shades of grey and black, festive jewel tones, and rusty brown shadows that dominated the runways during winter 2016/17 fashion week to prepare for the winter season, we're encouraging you to turn your attention to the latest eye makeup trend: Glossy lids. Glossy lids have established themselves as one of the top eye makeup trends this season among YouTubers, bloggers and makeup-loving celebrities like Kylie Jenner.
The dewy trend is easily created by using liquid and cream shadows, or by simply incorporating a little bit of Vaseline or clear lip gloss into your eye makeup routine. The look is unique, sultry, sophisticated and perfect for the holiday season (since you're already trying daring new beauty looks!).

GLOSSY EYELIDS: 4 LOOKS TO TRY
With the holiday season upon us, why not combine one of the season's hottest eye makeup trends with a little bit of festive glitter? When adding glitter to your glossy lids, the results are subtle, yet statement-making – the perfect combination! Glittery lids will add a touch of glam to your look that's perfect for your next holiday party.
To achieve this look, mix your favourite glittery shadow (gold looks great when paired with glitter) with a little bit of translucent lip gloss. Next, apply the mixture onto your eyelid, stretching it gently onto your brow bone using your fingers. Apply a tiny bit of glitter on top, then finish off your look with a bold matte lipstick (plum will complement gold perfectly) to create contrast!

If you're seeking a look that's a bit edgier, try layering a glossy finish over your smoky eye. This will create a look that is dramatic, edgy and sensual all at once – perfect for a night out with friends!
To get this look, start by applying your smoky eye as you normally would. Use a dark black shadow and blend it all over your lids for a more dramatic look. If you aren't comfortable with black, stick to a medium or dark grey shadow, instead. At the centre of your lids, place a transparent lip gloss over your smoky eye, then finish off with a volumizing mascara and a touch of liner on your bottom lash line!
For a softer, more feminine approach to glossy lids, try pairing your clear lip gloss with a pastel shade of pink or blue. Mix your gloss with your shadow, then apply it onto your eyelid with a brush. Leave the rest of your eye bare and free of mascara or liner for a subtle look. Finish off by applying a golden shadow along your lower lash line with an angled brush, and open up your eyes by applying a shimmery white shadow in your inner corners.
A soft pink lip gloss and a few drops of liquid illuminator will brighten up your complexion and give you an enviable glow!
Kylie Jenner's neutral, glossy lids in a light shade of brown are super sophisticated and look great when paired with a vibrant red lip! Keep the rest of your eye makeup to a minimum by applying only a touch of mascara on your upper and lower lashes. Don't forget to fill in your brows to shape your face and complete your look!
