Golden Globes 2017: The plunging neckline gowns that took over the red carpet

by Paige Exell -

The Golden Globes are more than a key event for the film industry and opportunity to award actors and actresses for their work. In addition to being a night that honours the best in cinema and TV series, the Golden Globes are the perfect opportunity to spot the best in fashion, beauty and hairstyle trends on our favourite celebs. While bold lips, smoky eyes and sparkles of all kinds dominated in the makeup department, classic chignons, beachy waves and satin ponytails took over celebs 'dos.

One of our favourite things about red carpet events? The gorgeous gowns worn by our favourite celebs. While many stars like Chrissy Teigen and Sarah Paulson were inspired by the gold in the Golden Globes, it was the plunging neckline that took over the red carpet at last night's 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards. In case you missed it, we've rounded up a selection of the best, and most revealing dresses that stole the spotlight on last night's red carpet.

The heat was turned up in Los Angeles last night when Hollywood beauties like Jessica Biel, Mandy Moore and Gina Rodriguez took the spotlight wearing gowns with plunging necklines at the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards.

And while the looks may have been revealing, the stars proved that it's possible to adopt a plunging neckline while remaining elegant, sophisticated and ultra-glamorous. Jessica Biel wore an Elie Saab creation with a thigh high slit that was as equally revealing as her neckline. Meanwhile, Mandy Moore relied on a little black dress by Naeem Khan. Gina Rodriguez stunned in a sequin dress by the same designer.

Some of the stars spotted on last night's red carpet decided to adopt the plunging neckline trend with a little more restraint, but with just as much style. Hailee Steinfeld rocked a Vera Wang creation that covered her bust with a sheer overlay, while actress Naomie Harris donned a strapless Armani gown that revealed her slender shoulders.

We love that these Hollywood celebs have shown us new and more discreet ways to adopt a sultry and revealing look!

While some chose ultra plunging necklines and more subdued versions of the same trend, others preferred to reveal a little less than most thanks to the seductive power of the cut-out gown. Emily Ratajkowski accessorized her bust with jewels adorned on her Reem Acra gown. Meanwhile, Olivia Culpo opted for a Zuhair Murad gown – one of our favourite looks of the night! And last but certainly not least, L'Oreal Paris muse Blake Lively grabbed our attention wearing a black cut-out gown by Versace.

Which look was your favourite on the Golden Globes red carpet?
