Back in the early 2000s, flat ironing was a revelation for women seeking smooth and silky looking hair. No matter your hair type, this beauty innovation became the number one ally for taming frizz and flattening out unwanted waves. However, with time, the flat iron or in other words, girls best friend, has become much more than just an expert in straightening hair. Thanks to its generally conical shape, the flat iron has proved itself to be very effective in curling hair and creating enviable beach waves, as well.

Flat Ironing: Creating Beach Goddess Waves
Anytime you decide to reach for an iron of any kind, the first step is to spray your hair with thermal protective spray. To maximize your look, make sure to choose a protective spray that is specific to your hair type.
Start at the bottom section of your hair around ear height, and place the iron horizontally on your hair while creating zigzag movements with your hand. Once you've completed the bottom section of your hair, repeat the movements on the top section.
Once you've finished with the flat iron, spray a thin layer of matte spray to your locks and scrunch your hair to create a dishevelled look. You can also opt for an oil or serum to create a similar, dishevelled effect. Next, spray a fair amount of hairspray to your fingers and run them through your hair for a flawless result.
