After years of glam curls and long, sleek 'dos, the lazy-girl hairstyle we all know and love has made its way back into the spotlight for summer 2016: The French braid. Equally popular on the runway and the red carpet, French braids have most recently been spotted in the form of boxer braids and braided crowns at music festivals and on our favourite celebs. And while we love this fuss-free, summer style, we highly encourage experimenting with your beauty look and trying out different versions of every trend!
Get The Look is offering you a completely new way to wear the French braid, as seen on model Lana Mueller in Berlin, Germany during Fashion Week. A hybrid between the classic, single French braid and a braided crown, this new and improved version of the trend has one single French braid down the middle of your head, and two on each side of your head, all joining in the centre to create one unique look.

HAIR INSPIRATION: THE NEW AND IMPROVED FRENCH BRAID
To start, keep in mind that this type of braid will be much easier to maneuver on hair that isn't freshly washed. If you've recently washed your hair, but still want to give this look a go, add texture to your hair by spraying a matt spray throughout for a disheveled, textured look before styling.
Start by dividing your hair into four sections: one on the right side, one on the left, one on the top and one at the back of your head.
With the three front sections (right, top and left), create three different French braids by incorporating small bits of hair into others as you go. Once past your ears, braid your hair regularly.
At 5 cm from your neck, collect the three braids together to form one small ponytail with your hair and attach with bobby pins.
Bring the hair from the back section of your head back and integrate the small ponytail created in step 3 to create a classic braid. Secure your ends with a clear elastic.
To give your hair a dishevelled, messy appearance for an edgy look, release a few strands around your face and in front of your ears.
Finish off by spraying a generous amount of hairspray enriched with oils onto your head for a glossy finish and maximum hold.
Pair your new and improved French braid with a graphic liner and nude lip for the perfect grunge appeal.
