Tousled and loose ponytail

Hairstyle inspiration: 3 easy low ponytails to try!

As much as we love Hollywood waves and Dutch braids, most days call for a more relaxed hair-styling option like the ponytail. We know, it sounds boring! But luckily our favorite standby has been getting some major Fashion Week upgrades, appearing on the runways of Mugler, Chanel, Dior, Prada and many more!

Now that it's more popular and stylish than ever, there's no reason not to rock a low ponytail this season. Here are three of our favorite ways to style this on-trend look:

Textured & Loose

Softly disheveled looks continued their reign on this season's runways, whether styled into bohemian waves, side braids, or a low ponytail like this one! Tied at the nape of the neck and then loosened to let face-framing pieces of hair fall forward, this look is as simple as it is romantic!

Get the look: Spritz your hair with a matte texturizing spray and then secure tightly into a low ponytail. Pull the hair elastic down 2" and then massage your scalp to loosen up the hair at the roots. We told you it was easy!

Straight & Sleek

The tousled look is closely followed by ultra-sleek, pin straight locks. Without a single hair out of place, this chic low ponytail gets a touch of high fashion glamour in the form of a blush pink ribbon.

Get the look: Apply a heat protection balm for straight hair before blow drying and then pass a flat iron over your hair. Brush the hair back into a low ponytail and then secure in place with an elastic. Cover your hair tie with a ribbon of your choice to complete the look!

Double the fun

Looking for a truly original and fresh spin on the low ponytail? Then double the fun with two! Whatever texture your hair, it can be smoothed back into two discreet ponytails that lay side by side for a sweet, feminine look!

Get the look: Create a center part and then smooth your hair back into a low ponytail. Use your fingers to divide the ponytail in two and then secure them both with a clear elastic, one next to the other. Run a small amount of hair oil through your ends for extra polish and then finish the look with an oversized barette!
