Hairstyle tutorial: Doutzen Kroes' tousled curls

We were delighted to spot L'Oréal Paris spokesperson Doutzen Kroes at the REVEAL Calvin Klein Fragrance launch on September 8, 2014. Her first public appearance since welcoming new baby girl Myllena, Doutzen looked more beautiful than ever with natural, barely-there makeup and a simple, chic black slip dress. It was the model's tousled curls, however, that amped things up.

Low-key locks

Doutzen had styled her trademark blonde locks into a tousled, curly look that was "bedhead chic" at it's best. It was the perfect style to match her laid-back, bare-it-all look. Minimal styling made for a relaxed, romantic finish with plenty of movement and body, and Doutzen swept her hair over to one side for an extra-seductive touch.

Get the Look

Step one

After washing your hair, use a comb to get rid of any tangles. Then, distribute curling mousse from root to end with the same comb.

Step two

After spraying your hair with heat protection, either allow the hair to air dry, or use a blow dryer to rough dry it.

Step three

Once your hair is dry, use a curling iron to create large, loose waves. Work in medium-sized sections until you've curled the hair all over.

Step four

Allow the hair to cool, and then run your fingers through the curls to loosen them up. You can also use your fingers to gently backcomb sections for a gently disheveled look.

Step five

Create a "no part" part by using your fingers to make a large zig zag at the top of your head (this helps create volume and looks effortless glamorous). Then, use the diffuser of your blow dryer to gently tousle the hair.

Gorgeous!
