On Tuesday June 24, actress Ella Wahlestedt attended the 5th Annual Thirst Gala hosted by Jennifer Garner in Beverly Hills, California. Ella was there to support The Thirst Project, an organization that aims to bring freshwater wells to underdeveloped countries, proving she not only loves to rally behind a good cause, but she also looks great doing it!

The young actress walked the red carpet in a chic black satin top with a coordinating red and black floral skirt. She kept her makeup look soft and natural, but really brought the drama with a dramatic braided chignon. Want to copy Ella's look?

Get the look

Step one: Braided hairstyles work best with hair that has a little texture, so after you wash your hair, spray it through with a touch of sea salt spray and then rough dry it.

Step two: Using your fingers to create a zig zag side part that goes about 4" back from the hairline. One the side with the part, separate the rest of the hair straight down from the end of the part and use it to make one big French braid. When you reach the nape of the neck, continue braiding and secure it with a hair tie.

Step three: One of the opposite side, section the hair into two smaller sections and make two French braids.

Step four: Use your hands to smooth the braids and loose hair into a low ponytail and secure it with a hair tie. Then, create two sections of hair with the ponytail and twist them around eachother, before twisting them around the base of the ponytail to create an intricate chignon. Secure the hair with bobby pins.

Step five: Spray the look all over with strong hold hairspray to make it last.

There you go! A red carpet ready look for any occasion.
