Hilary Rhoda: master her glowing makeup look for blue eyes!

by Samantha Hunt -

The 25th Annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards last night, November 9, were everything that we hoped they would be: inspirational, star-studded, and - of course - totally glamorous!

We spotted American model Hilary Rhoda fulfilling all three of those attributes: wearing an off-the-shoulder J. Mendel blue cocktail dress with black tassled heels, the 28-year-old positively glowed with a flawless and subtle makeup palette that perfectly flaunted her bright blue eyes.

Loving this look as much as we are? Well here's your chance! Read our quick guide below....

Subtle makeup for blue eyes

Light blush

The best way to start any beauty look is to get your complexion looking absolutely flawless! Apply a lightweight BB cream across your freshly moisturized skin, smoothing it over the surface in small circles to ensure optimal coverage.

Allow for the cream to sink into your pores before dusting the apples of your cheeks with a rosy blush, working the powder up your cheekbone line to create a subtle flush of definition. Finish your complexion with a light application of matte face powder.

Bold Brows

If you have a dark hair shade and light eyes like Hilary, emphasizing your bold brows can be one of your best assets! Use the spoolie brush attachment on your brow pencil to shape your brows into place before giving them a darker thicker look with short sharp strokes from the pencil itself.

Add the color around the center of your brows and not so heavily around either end to get the most natural look, then comb through once again with the spoolie brush to blend the color.

Defined eyes

Light blue and green eyes don't need a lot of help in trying to make them pop: all you need is a subtle hint of definition as seen on Hilary! Create a small cat eye flick with a liquid liner along your upper lash line, starting around the center of your lid and thickening the stroke slightly towards your outer lashes.

Once the liner has set, add a hint of glittering silver eyeliner along the edge of the black and around the inner half of your lid, before completing your baby blues with a coat of lash-thickening mascara!

Lovely lips

Whatever the red carpet event, you always need to finish your look with a touch of completely kissable lip color!

We love Hilary's light coral-pink shade of glossy lipstick which both brought out the color of the blush in her cheeks and contrasted against the icy blue of her eyes: the perfect lipstick choice!
