During the holiday season, it's helpful to have a selection of favorite beauty looks on hand for the various situations you'll find yourself in. Ideally, you'll have a fresh-faced and easygoing look for family time, something festive but discrete for work functions, and finally, a look that's striking and on-trend for celebrating with friends.
Yesterday we offered a few suggestions for barely there beauty looks to try, and today we've got the ultimate in high-drama holiday glamour: the metallic-accented graphic cat eye. This look amps up the classic cat eye by coloring in the entire eyelid with opaque black liner. Then, the look is accented with a metallic silver eyeshadow.
Ready to try it? Here's how...
Get the Look
As this look will attract some attention, you'll want to make sure your complexion is flawless. Apply a medium coverage liquid foundation and blend it in well with a brush or sponge. Tap concealer over any blemishes, imperfections, or dark circles. Finally, set your base with setting powder.
To start your eye makeup, apply primer all over your lids. Work the primer past the crease, up to the outer brow bone, and along the lower lash line. Next, take a black eyeliner pencil and draw on the cat eye. Starting at the inner corner, draw up to the creaseline, about 1/3 way through and then move the pencil downward again in a curved shape. Fill in any blank space.
Now, start the other side on the outer 1/3 of the eye, following the natural contour of the brow bone, and then flicking it out toward the ends of the brow. From the brow, move the pencil down to the outer corner. Draw a curved shape on the inside, and then fill it in with eyeliner. Now, take a brush and gently blend.
Finally, use a brush to apply silver eyeshadow to the empty space of the cat eye. Apply black mascara and your eye makeup is complete.
Finish with a hydrating slick of nude balm.
