We got a special sneak peak during a photo shoot with singer Bella Thorne in Los Angeles on May 12, 2013. The red-haired singer and actress showed off her long locks with a floral crown: the perfect spring accessory!
Trust Bella to pull off another good accessory. Not only does she have some of the best red hair in Hollywood, she also shows it off with a huge variety of accessories-- from hats to little bows to hairbands.
Two falsehoods about floral crowns:
1. They are only for hippies and for people at Coachella. Bella proves this isn't true with her recent appearance. Remember, folks, that Bella is solidly in the mainstream with her pop music sounds, penchant for nail polish and frequent appearance on the Disney Channel.
2. They can only be worn with flowy and/or fancy things. False again. Bella paired a crown with shorts and a tee-shirt, just like it was any old headband. You can do the same!
Two truths about floral crowns
1. They bring attention to your hair. Anytime you wear a hair accessory, you are asking people to look at your hair.
2. This means that you need to take care of your hair-- you asked for it. If you are wearing an accessory, people are going to look at your hair. So you better rise to the challenge. For locks as shiny as Bella's, you should be completing a full haircare regime every day. You should also experiment with extra nourishment-- try out a mask or some hair oil. Trust us, your hair will be healthier for it!
Bella isn't the only star who loves this blooming trend. Pixie Lott has been known to be a flowerchild, as has Lana Del Rey. Check out Pixie's and Lana's respective looks! It has also made an appearance at Fashion Week!
