The life of Kristina Bazan is a real modern day fairy tale with a "once upon a time" in Switzerland and L'Oréal Paris in the role of godmother. Ever since the blogger became a spokesmodel for the French beauty brand, her life has been turned upside down- in the best way possible! Last month, Kristina joined us to chat being a Woman of Worth, personal style and her brand new album!
Did you ever think you would become a L'Oréal Paris ambassador?
No way! When I was small I dreamed of being an actress or a singer, but L'Oréal Paris? I couldn't have imagined! Of course, when they got in touch with me, I still couldn't believe it! Since becoming a spokesperson, I travel more, I have more opportunities, and I'll be on the cover of Vogue!
Among the ambassadors you've already met, who is your favorite?
Doutzen Kroes, without hesitation. I have always admired her, even before I started my blog. She is very feminine, an absolute delight, with a character that's both gentle and intense at the same time. When I met her, she immediately put me at ease and I felt like I was part of the family.
Which designers are your favorite?
I love the work of David Koma for Mugler. He's created such a strong visual world, I would say he's really a visionary. The Mugler woman is sexy, elegant, and modern... I just love it. Plus, he is so nice, so humble.
I also really like Balmain. And Elie Saab, whose clothing is truly made with the female body in mind.
How would you describe your style?
I would say it changes a lot depending on my mood. Right now I'm very into the 70s, very Jane Birkin, with feminine silhouettes.
What are your makeup essentials right now?
I'm a #taptap girl! I love the natural, luminous look of the new True Match Lumi Cushion Compact! Contouring is super trendy and makes for a great photo, but I don't do it everyday- it's a little too sophisticated for me. My real must-have is the Superstar eyeliner. The cat eye has kind of become my signature.
What's the key to blogging success?
I think you just need to build a good network, stay in touch with people. And the photo quality is important, for sure! I'm just a "girl next door" and my experience is proof that nothing is impossible as long as you work hard.
Do you have any blogger friends?
Yes, fortunately! Tina Leung is one of my best friends. And I love Elena Perminova with whom I can speak Russian. But unfortunately I don't see them often enough.
Do you have any exciting projects you're working on?
Well, apart from my collaboration with L'Oréal Paris, I've been working for the last two years on my first album. I've always written songs but now it's something concrete. It's coming out in November, but my single will be available in April. I'm super excited!
