Yesterday, October 11, saw the Gotham panel take place during Comic-Con in New York City, bringing with it some of our very own homegrown talent! Vancouverite actress and star of the Batman-offshoot series, Jessica Lucas, stepped out for the event wearing a black and white ensemble, which she teamed with gorgeously voluminous waves and a natural makeup look with a hint of eye-catching shimmer. This up-and-comer is already a natural!
Daytime makeup for brunettes
When trying to nail the perfectly on-point daytime makeup look, it is always a good idea to take your hair color into account to create the ideal natural balance. For brunettes, this means creating an illuminating contrast between your dark, luxurious locks and your makeup while sticking to nude and cream eyeshadow shades, which Jessica has mastered flawlessly! Here's how to get her look...
A glowing complexion
Start by giving your freshly moisturized skin a light layer of illuminating primer and allow for the formula to absorb into your skin. This will provide a smooth, light-reflecting canvas on which to start your beauty look! Next, reach for the BB cream rather than your foundation for a lighter and more hydrating coverage, touching up any problem areas with a concealer where necessary before using a clean application sponge to blend together for a flawless finish.
A shimmering eye
Next, master that soft eye makeup with a hint of shimmer! First give your eyes some sultry definition: follow your upper lashes with a liquid eyeliner for a smooth curve, then switch to a pencil liner for your lower lashes to achieve a more smoky edge.
Choose a warm coffee eyeshadow and dust into the crease line of each lid and around the outer corners of your eyes. Change to a fresh clean eyeshadow brush to sweep the shimmery champagne shade across your lids, and around your tearducts before completing your eyes with a coat of mascara.
A perfect pink pout
To contrast against the icy glimmer of your eyeshadow, round off your look with a warm pink lip shade. Do some pout preparation by exfoliating your lips - you can easily do this by gently massaging them with the head of a toothbrush - then allow a moisturizing balm to sink in. Finally, with the swish of a rose lipstick your daytime makeup look is ready to go!
