Another day, another star-studded premiere - or three! - at the Toronto International Film Festival! And we couldn't be more excited to see the red carpet roll out last night for Maggie's Plan: a comedy starring none other than our very own L'Oréal Paris ambassador, Julianne Moore!
The 54-year-old actress stepped out for the evening in a floor-length black, loose-fitted gown with mid-length sheer sleeves, a sheer back and gorgeous black velvet piping. What a way to make an entrance! She then teamed her dress with a timeless romantic updo and a simple-yet-sophisticated makeup palette. With beauty this flawless, we had to get a closer look...
Giving her look a little bit of 1950s-inspired, Mad Men-esque styling, Julianne pulled her hair back for the evening into a voluminous, chic updo. To pull this off, start by massaging volumizing mousse into the roots of your damp, freshly-washed hair and blowdry straight using a large, round-headed brush.
Then create a small side part at the front of your head with a comb, before gently pulling the top of your hair and the sides to the back of your crown. Fix the hair in place with bobby pins, pushing the top of your hair forwards to create volume as you do so.
Use the comb to draw the rest of your hair up to this point and continue to fix with bobby pins, wrapping the strands around into an elegant chignon and securing until all of your hair is up, in place and looking super chic! Fix in place with a mist of hairspray and your 'do is done!
If anyone has got their red carpet makeup routine down to perfection by now, it has to be Julianne Moore! The Academy Award-winning actress kept her look simple but unbelieveably flawless last night with a light peach blush to her cheeks - choosing a blush shade to work with her auburn locks and pale coloring - a shimmering pale pink lip color and defined eyes with a hint of light rose eyeshadow.
Get her warm, soft eye makeup by swapping your regular black liquid eye liner for a coffee brown pencil shade, as this will blend better with the powder eyeshadow formula. Dust the rose shimmer under your lower lashes to dazzle those cameras and finish your look with two coats of lash-thickening mascara: simple!
