Last night, October 21, model and L'Oréal Paris ambassador Karlie Kloss stepped out for the Pencils Of Promise Gala in New York City, adding generosity to her crippling list of flawless attributes! The blonde beauty and current student at NYU wore a flowing black lace gown with long sleeves and a high neckline to the gala, which was held to raise money to build schools and increase literacy throughout the world.
Our eyes were - of course - fixed on Karlie's killer makeup look and hairstyle choice for the evening, and didn't she look stunning! The 23-year-old paired a warm red matte lipstick with a contrasting hint of dazzling gold eyeshadow around her tearducts, before making us all double-take with this gorgeous French-braided updo! Are you thinking what we're thinking? It's tutorial time!
Get the look
Create a side-part in your hair on the left side of your head and comb through your lengths to get rid of any tangles. If you are working with freshly-washed hair, spritz a sea-salt spray or texturizing wax through your tresses to give your hair more holding power.
Start your French braid just above your right temple. Gather a section of side-swept hair just above your forehead and separate it into three strands. Criss-cross them once then add other pieces of hair to each strand, then criss-cross again and repeat.
Continue to form the braid in a circular shape around the back of your head until you have reached the nape of your neck on your left side. Once all of your hair has been included in the braid (apart from any romantic strands you want to leave loose around your face) continue to create a normal braid with the leftover hair just under your left ear and secure it with a hair tie.
Wrap this side braid into a small coil just behind your left ear and fix in place with bobby pins. Finish the whole style with a spritz of hairspray and you ready with your classy, Klossy hairstyle!
