Happy 10th anniversary Vogue China! And what a better way to celebrate a big milestone than by hitting Milan Fashion Week with a glamorous party, with none other than model and L'Oréal Paris ambassador Karlie Kloss in tow! For the fashionable event last night, September 28, Karlie stepped out in a strapless black mini-dress with romantic ruffles around the waist, a matching neck-tie and clutch, and a pair of contrasting white peep-toe heels.
And what beauty look to pair with an LBD to a high-society event in Italy's fashion capital? A classic red-lipped makeup palette teamed with a tousled updo, of course!
Classic like Karlie
Karlie is famous for her smooth, silky long bob, which she usually styles with a volume-boosting blow out and a dose of rich hair oil to add some high-shine treatment! We love how the 23-year-old model switched up her usual routine to instead pull her hair back into a loose romantic chignon, allowing for a few strands of hair to fall romantically in curls about her face.
To get her tousled style, first spritz your dry hair throughout with a texturizing sea salt spray and tease the roots with your fingers for extra volume. Allow for the spray to properly absorb and dry into your locks before you continue to style into a classic chignon.
Top tip: Coat your fingers in a drop of rich hair oil and twist the loose strands into glossy rich curls to frame your face!
There are three key ingredients to Karlie's classic makeup look: a flawless complexion, XXL lashes, and a killer ruby red pout!
To start at the base, give your skin an illuminating layer of primer and allow for the formula to soak into your skin. Then apply your liquid matte foundation: use a makeup sponge to smooth the foundation in small circles onto your face, working from your nose out towards your hair line. Finish your flawless complexion with a touch of concealer on any remaining problem areas and a light dusting of blush on the apples of your cheeks.
The rest is simple: follow the curve of your upper lash line with a liquid eyeliner, smoothly creating a subtle hint of definition. Give your lower lashes one coat of thickening mascara and your upper lashes two - for some real va-va voom volume - and complete your look with a rich coat of ruby red lipstick!
