Last night, Tom Ford hosted his show-now-shop-now runway show in New York for the first time at the former Four Seasons restaurant for a dinner and fashion show. So you can imagine he attracted quite the guest list. Iconic supermodels like Karlie Kloss , Naomi Campbell, and Cindy Crawford put their best foot forward while others like Julianne Moore , Alicia Keys, and Uma Thurman also made the nights best dressed list (they happen to favour Ford's pieces on the red carpet, too).
While everyone wore glamorous dresses and suits from the fashion house, they need not wait long to secure Ford's new looks – he's adopted a see now, buy now approach, and everything from the collection is shoppable instantly. One of our favourite looks from the night? Karlie Kloss' shimmering metallic deep-V gown that she paired with an equally blinged-out choker.
And while we're used to seeing Karlie's feminine, yet subtle eye makeup and dewy skin, this time around, she went with a more daring beauty look...
KARLIE KLOSS: EGGPLANT SMOKY EYES AT NEW YORK FASHION WEEK
The L'Oreal muse and supermodel paired her gorgeous silver metallic gown with matching strappy silver heels, a pink sequin box clutch, and a bejewelled choker that complimented her bare neck line. But the main attraction of the night was her makeup look.
The blonde bombshell wasn't afraid to go bold, pairing her shimmery look with an equally shimmery set of eggplant coloured eye shadow on her lids and beneath her lower lash line. She enhanced her eyes further with bold brows and kept her complexion consistent opting for pink blush and a glossy pink pout to match. We love Karlie's daring approach to glitter and colour for Tom Ford's New York Fashion Week presentation!
GET THE LOOK
Want to achieve a glam look like Karlie's? Start off by unifying your complexion with a liquid foundation. Simply apply a small coin sized amount of formula onto a sponge, brush or beauty blender, then dab the foundation into your skin for a perfect base.
To create Karlie's highlighted, glowy look, use a large fluffy brush to apply highlighting powder onto the bridge of your nose, high points of your cheekbones, chin and middle of forehead. Next, enhance your cheek bones with a bright pink powdered blush, moving the formula up from the apples of your cheeks to your temples.
Now for the best part: the eggplant smoky eyes. To re-create this look, you'll need an eggplant coloured shadow (preferably shimmery) to start. Using a fluffy shadow brush, apply the eggplant colour onto your lids, moving slightly upwards towards the brow bone to cover the entire surface area of your lids. Blend the shadow into the inner corners of your eyes, then onto the area below your lower lash line. After you've finished, use a small angled brush to touch up and add more colour to the area below your lower lash line.
If you don't have a shimmery eggplant shadow, follow up with a silver or gold glitter shadow, and layer it gently onto the eggplant shadow on your upper lids and lower lash line. Next, use a voluminous mascara like L'Oreal's Voluminous mascara with angled brush to coat your upper and lower lashes.
Enhance your eyes further by shaping your brows with a brow pencil that matches your hair colour. Fill them in with brow gel for a fuller look. Finish off your Karlie-inspired look with a peach-y shade of lip gloss.
