On Wednesday August 24th, Kate Middleton made an appearance at a charity event for Youthscape, which fosters youth-minded community initiatives in Luton, England, wearing a blue, poppy-printed dress by one of her favourite designers, L.K. Bennett. Being the stylish woman she is, Kate Middleton knows what works for her, and despite having access to any major designer, she's been known to repeat an outfit or two...
POPPY-PRINTED DRESS AND NATURAL WAVES
The cheery poppy-printed dress worn for her appearance in Luton was one we had seen before; Middleton wore it back in 2014 during a visit to Australia, with a pair of suede navy pumps and a bright box clutch. For the second time around, she paired the cheery print with a pair of nude patent pumps and a matching nude box clutch. Who knew outfit repeating could look so good!
The Duchess of Cambridge complimented her long-sleeved, high neck dress with a pair of silver earrings and kept her makeup natural wearing nothing more than a hint of blush and a few coats of mascara.
As for her hair, she wore her brown locks wavy and natural, giving us serious hair envy (as always!) To achieve this look, simply curl your freshly washed hair with a large barrel curling iron for larger, more natural-looking waves, then brush out the curls for a shiny, I-Woke-Up-Like-This appeal. Finish off with shine finish hairspray and you've got yourself a Kate Middleton-approved hair 'do!
FIERY RED DRESS AND A HALF-UP HALF-DOWN HAIRSTYLE
After Wednesday's charity event for Youthscape, Kate Middleton continued raising awareness for her favourite cause, children's mental health, with a visit to the YoungMinds headquarters in London on Thursday, August 25th. And though we're used to seeing the Duchess repeat outfits, her latest look is a new one – with the exception of her accessories, which are Middleton signatures.
The brunette beauty wore a vibrant red fit-and-flare, knee-length dress by L.K. Bennett, and paired it with her signature nude box clutch and matching nude suede pumps. Her accessories and makeup were kept minimal, while her hair was styled into one of the season's most prevalent hair trends: the half-up, half-down look.
While the half-up half-down hairstyle can be worn in many different ways and with many different textures, Kate opted for her signature loose curls on the bottom half of her head, while the top portion was pulled back and held in place at the crown of her head. Her hair was parted slightly to the side giving her look an effortlessly beautiful feel.
To achieve this look, part your hair slightly off to the side using a fine tooth comb. Next, slightly backcomb the back half of your hair so that the part isn't so defined, then pull half of your hair back on each side (making sure to maintain the part) and secure with bobby pins at the crown of your head. Using a large barrel curling iron, curl the loose strands on the bottom half of your head, then brush them out for a more natural look. Finish off with shine finish hairspray to achieve healthy, glowing hair like Kate!
