Is there anything Kate Middleton can't do? She's the Duchess of Cambridge, wife, mother, style icon, and most recently, a tennis expert. Last Thursday, Kate visited Wimbledon to watch the women's semi-finals. Wearing her bright yellow, colour-block dress by Roksanda Ilincic, Kate looked vibrant and totally summer-y. And while we've seen other notables like L'Oreal muse Irina Shayk attend the tournament last week, Kate has proved herself to be a true fan, attending the event regularly throughout the years – and she even plays tennis herself! Who knew?
As if being a tennis whiz wasn't enough, Kate also schooled us in warm weather fashion during her return to Wimbledon yesterday with Prince William to cheer on British favourite, Andy Murray, at the men's final. The Duchess wore a new Alexander McQueen dress to mark the occasion. The "Obsession" dress is from McQueen's latest line and features a jewel neckline, A-line cut and whimsical print.
We loved Kate's look so much, we're breaking it down, piece by piece in order to offer you some summer style inspo!
KATE MIDDLETON BRINGS COLOUR AND PRINTS TO WIMBLEDON
As if Kate's vibrant Alexander McQueen printed dress wasn't enough to get you in summer spirits, the Duchess accessorized her look with Brora Gold Charm Earrings, her Cartier Ballon Bleu watch and Gianvtio Rossi Praline Suede pumps.
As for her beauty look, Kate kept things simple, yet elegant as always, opting for soft wavy locks and a natural complexion that she enhanced with a hint of pink blush, a touch of liner, and a few coats of mascara – the ultimate summer beauty look!
To get her look, start off by hydrating your skin with a moisturizer that contains SPF. This will give you the initial appearance of shiny, glowing and healthy skin. Continue with a light BB cream, rubbing the product gently into your skin with a beauty blender. Enhance your complexion by swiping a hint of pink blush onto the apples of your cheeks.
Next, use a black liner to line the upper part of your lid just above your lash line, and the lower part, just beneath your waterline. Using a small, angled brush, smudge the liner into your lash line for a more natural appearance. Coat your lashes with mascara and apply a swipe of nude gloss to your lips to finish off.
To achieve soft, wavy curls like Kate, start off with freshly washed hair, then spray a heat protective spray throughout. Using a large barrel curling iron, curl large sections of hair towards the bottom half of your head, making sure not to move the iron above your ears. Once you've curled your entire head, brush the curls out and finish off with a shine-finish hairspray!
