While Queen Elizabeth's 90th birthday officially took place on April 21, this morning commenced an entire weekend of celebrations around Britain in honour of their longest serving monarch, which will include a traditional military parade on Saturday and a patron's lunch street party on Sunday outside of Buckingham Palace.
The festivities began earlier today with a National Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul's Cathedral. And while everyone from Prince William and Prince Harry made an appearance for the momentous occasion, it was the Duchess of Cambridge who stole the show (yet again).
KATE MIDDLETON'S BLUE COATDRESS
In true Kate Middleton fashion, she turned heads wearing a periwinkle blue coatdress with white lace embellishments by Catherine Walker, and topped her outfit with the same white Jane Taylor hat she wore to the Queen's last garden party and Princess Charlotte's christening. Kate completed the look with a beige clutch and matching beige pumps complimented her periwinkle blue.
Yesterday, Kate wore a vibrant, cobalt Roland Mouret gown to SportsAid's 40th anniversary gala dinner at Kensington Palace, making us wonder if we should also be going blue for summer 2016, because if Kate Middleton says it's a trend – it's a trend!
KATE'S BLUSH CHEEKS
As always, Kate kept her makeup to a minimum, opting for black liner, nude lips, and vibrant rosy cheeks that added another soft touch to her feminine, lace accented blue coatdress. Her hair was pulled back allowing the hat – as well as her gorgeous blue earrings – take all of the attention.
To get her look, unify your base with a cushion foundation for full, yet lightweight coverage. Coast your upper and lower lashes with mascara, and your lips with a nude gloss or glossy lipstick. To give yourself a royal flush like Kate's, use a blush brush, and gently dab pink powder blush onto the apples of your cheekbones.
