After months (and months) of anticipation, our favourite Royal family has returned to Canada for a second time, and the much-anticipated moment of Kate Middleton stepping off the plane for us to see her arrival outfit is finally here. On September 24th, the Cambridges landed at the Victoria International Airport – along with their 12-person entourage. Prince William and Prince George appeared first, followed by Kate who was carrying Princess Charlotte. The Royal family was greeted by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau.
Now, let's talk Kate's wardrobe and beauty looks. Read on to see what the Duchess of Cambridge has worn on her visit to Canada so far!
THE ROYAL FAMILY VISITS CANADA
KATE MIDDLETON'S BLUE JENNY PACKHAM DRESS
While we were surprised to see that Kate had opted not to wear a Canadian designer for her first few steps off the plane (she wore Erdem for her last visit back in 2011), the Royal family members looked gorgeous in their matching blue outfits. The Duchess opted for a body-con blue dress by British designer Jenny Packham, and topped it of with a matronly chignon. In the jewellery department, Kate accessorized with the Queen's maple leaf brooch (because, where else do you wear a maple leaf brooch?) that she wore on her previous Canadian tour.
One of the most admirable things about Kate is her ability to recycle pieces from her clothing collection. Although this look wasn't a repeat, her blue Lock & Co. hat was very similar to the red version she wore on her last visit. As for the children, they stole the spotlight wearing blue looks that coordinated nicely with their mother's look.
One of the most surprising things about her look? While the Duchess may have opted for a more regal, conservative style this time around, her makeup look was fun and unexpected, not to mention, nods to one of this season's most coveted beauty trends: blue eye makeup.
While she stuck to her signature natural complexion and nude lipstick, Kate's eyes told a different story. She matched her makeup to her outfit by lining her upper lids and lower lash line with a blue eyeliner, then finished it off with a light brown base shadow and touch of mascara on the upper and lower lashes. So if blue eye makeup is fit for Kate Middleton, it's safe to say you can try it out too!
RED-AND-WHITE ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
For day 2 of the Canadian tour, Kate Middleton pulled out yet another flawless look. Yesterday morning, the Royal family flew to Vancouver – sans children – to continue their royal engagements. They were set up to meet with members of Sheway, which is a charity and community program that helps struggling mothers battle drug addiction, as well as visit the Immigrant Services Society to meet young leaders, and the Kitsilano Coast Guard Station to meet first responders.
Arriving at the Jack Poole Plaza and the Olympic Cauldron via a seaplane, the Duchess stepped out wearing a beautiful red-and-white eyelet dress by Alexander McQueen, giving nod to Canada's national colours. Her matching accessories, which included eye-catching red pumps and a matching red Miu Miu clutch, were also perfect to say the least.
As for her hair, Kate traded in her refined bun for her signature bouncy curls, and brushed the apples of her cheeks with a rosy blush that complimented her red accents.
Stay tuned to see what else Kate Middleton will wear on her Canadian tour!
