Kristen Stewart attends the 2015 National Board of Review Gala on January 5, 2016

Kristen Stewart hairstyle tutorial: copy her curly bob

Last night, January 5, the National Board of Review Gala kicked off award season in New York City and among the evening's A-list attendees was 25-year-old actress Kristen Stewart. While Stewart wasn't up for any awards herself, she took to the podium to present the NBR Freedom of Expression Award to Beasts of No Nation director Cary Joji Fukunaga.

The Clouds of Sils Maria star ditched her typical grungy attire for sheer glamour on the red carpet, opting for a little white shift dress by Chanel, which she paired with classic spectator heels. Shimmery white eyeshadow and expertly defined lashes added further drama and sophistication to the look, while Kristen's face-framing sideswept curly bob provided a youthful, fun touch.

2016: will the bob's reign continue?

When it comes to hairstyle trends, 2015 should be referred to as the "Year of the Bob"! From short and sleek to long and wavy, bobs were just about everywhere and Kristen is only one of the many stars who tried the look. A true style chameleon, Kristen is able to pull off the modern sculpted version just as well as she can a casually tousled style- though, personally, we think this is our favorite! Yours, too? Then follow our simple tutorial to get the look...

Recreate Kristen's curly bob

Starting with damp hair, apply a curl cream or mousse throughout and then brush your hair with a wide tooth comb to ensure even distribution. Spritz heat protection spray over your hair and then blow dry it.

If you have naturally curly hair, use your hands to scrunch the hair as you dry it to enhance your natural texture. If you have straight or wavy hair, dry your hair and then use a medium barrel curling iron to create curls throughout.

Create a side part and then tuck one side behind your ear before finishing the look with a mist of hairspray.
