If there's one thing Bitten star Laura Vandervoort loves, it's a brown smoky eye! We've seen her sport the look on many occasions, always pairing it with her trusty nude lipstick. Laura's smoky eye technique does a great job of drawing attention to one of the actress' loveliest features, her large, almond-shaped eyes, while the color of the eyeshadow perfectly complements their bright blue color.
This high-drama makeup might look out of place in a casual setting, but if you've got a special event coming up then you can't go wrong! The bronze and champagne shades are sure to suit any skin tone and though it's quite eye-catching, it's not over the top! Here's how to recreate Laura's look...
Get the look
Start by gliding an eyeshadow primer pencil over your eye area and then using your finger to smooth it out. Be careful not to blend too much, however- you don't want it to blend into the skin, but rather create a thin veil over it.
With your eyeshadow brush, apply a wash of shimmery champagne eyeshadow into the inner corners, over the lids, and along the bottom lash lines.
Apply a medium bronze shade along the outer 1/2 of both eyelids, working the color up past the creasline until you're close to the brow bone. Then, apply the color along the bottom 1/2 of the lower lash lines as well. Once you've done that, use a clean blending brush to buff the bronze shade out until all the lines are softened.
Line your top and bottom waterlines with brown eyeliner.
Finish with two coats of lengthening mascara to complete the look!
