Léa Seydoux during 2014 Paris Couture Fashion Week

Léa Seydoux makeup tutorial: a cat eye for Paris Fashion Week

by Alice McGenniss-Destro -

Some of the world's most stylish stars have touched down in Paris this week to sit front row at the 2014 couture presentations, including French film actress Léa Seydoux! As usual, the star was on her style A-game, sporting a matching metallic pant suit, sultry winged liner, and tousled side-parted hair.

If you're looking for a way to add a touch of French-chic to your summer beauty routine, let Léa be your ultimate inspiration!

Step one: A flawless base

After applying SPF, prep your skin with moisturiser and primer, which will ensure your foundation has an even surface to glide across. Next, choose a lightweight, long-wear liquid foundation to mask imperfections and even out your skin tone. Dot the product across your cheeks, chin, nose and forehead, then blend and buff the dots until full coverage is achieved.

A sweep of bronzer will contour your features, while a light wash of blush will bring warmth to your beauty look.

Step two: A sultry cat eye

Trace along your upper lash line with liquid eyeliner. Use teeny-tiny strokes to create the perfect outline, gradually thickening the line as you reach the outer corner. To mimic the subtle flick, use the tip of the eyeliner to draw a thin line that points up towards the end of your eyebrow.

Finish with two coats of jet-black mascara on your upper lashes.

Step three: A glossy lip

Balance your graphic eyes with a fresh nude pout. Exfoliate your lips to remove dry skin, then apply a slick of lip balm for moisture. Top it off with a pink-nude lip gloss to finish your look.
