Liya Kebede on the runway: copy her white eyeliner

by Alice McGenniss-Destro -

The Dior Fall-Winter 2014-2015 presentation took place on July 7, 2014 during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. As usual, the collection was stunning, but there was something else that caught our beauty-loving eyes: all of the models hit the runway donning ethereal white eyeliner.

Under the direction of Peter Phillips, the makeup team created a look that can be translated seamlessly to our everyday lives, certainly not a usual feat for couture!

"I was directly inspired by the spirit of this collection, which plays on the contrast between classicism and a visionary imagination," Philips told "This young woman had to have a pure and natural face, but also display a highly expressive 'artificial' element. This dichotomy is a reproduction of the runway show décor, which sees orchids springing from a futuristic setting. Continuing this theme of duality, I wanted to emphasize the strength and fragility of this young woman."

Teamed with bold brows, this light beauty look is one you will want to try today.

Get the runway look

Step one: Achieve a flawless runway-ready base with liquid foundation. Use a flat brush to dot the product across your cheeks, chin, nose and forehead. Then blend and buff the product until full coverage is achieved.

Step two: Bring warmth to your beauty look with a flush of pink to the apples of your cheeks. This will open up your features without having to use bronzer, ensuring the look remains fresh and subtle.

Step three: Apply white or silver eyeliner along your upper lash line. Leave a 1mm gap between the roots of your lashes and the line for a stronger finish.

Step four: Leave your eyes sans mascara and strengthen your brows with a sweep of brow powder.

Step five: Finish with a sheer lip stain.
