Wrapped ponytail

London Fashion Week trend to try: ribbons in your hair

London Fashion Week SS15 just kicked off and it's already proven to be quite fruitful for us in the Get the Look offices! Just when we thought we were running low on inspiration, LFW came around with lots of new trends to try. One of our favorite hairstyle looks so far? Wool yarn, ribbon, and thread woven into, or wrapped around, the hair for a brand new spin on accessorizing your locks!

It's a wrap!

Yes, you heard that right, it's time to make a beeline to your local craft store! But before you do, check out the three styles above to update your hair with a fashion-forward, fabric-embellished 'do.

Wrapped ponytail

We're always on the lookout for new and exciting ways to spice up the classic ponytail style and we found just that at the J. JS Lee show. The model's hair was pulled into a side poytail, then thick black thread was wrapped around the ponytail and fastened in place leaving the bottom third of the hair loose!

Satin knot

If it's a subtle look that you're after, try this cute satin ribbon ponytail with knotted detail, as spotted at the J. JS show. The model's hair was pulled back into a sleek ponytail and fastened with a hair tie, then a strip of black satin ribbon was tied around the top section of the ponytail to create a knot effect. We love this fresh take on an old classic, it's a great new way to accessorise with your outfit!

Woven braid

Time to borrow some of grandma's leftover wool yarn, but not for knitting! Copy the style from the Apu Jan show and try this unusual woven fishtail braid. Whether you choose to work satin, thread or string into your braided hairstyle is up to you. You can keep it simple with a monotone look like the model in the photo or, if you're feeling particularly daring, choose a selection of different tones for a more vibrant effect!

So, which one will you try first?
