Long bobs

Long bob inspiration: Selena Gomez, Heidi Klum, and more

Strangely, if you go to the hairstylist and ask for a "lob," they'd probably know exactly what you meant. The long bob hairstyle has been popping up all over recently- on the sidewalks, along the red carpet, and even in our office!

The best of both worlds

This haircut allows for the best of both worlds- hair that's short enough to be relatively low-fuss, but long enough that it can still be styled in certain updos . Usually, the long bob is cut bluntly and just above the shoulders, though we've seen longer ones like Selena's before, too.

Another reason this hip hairstyle is so popular? It's perfect for straight or curly hair types- just look at Heidi Klum and Michelle Dockery. Use a flat iron for super straight locks that look modern and cool. Or, liven it up a bit with some curl! Use a large-barrelled curling iron for some loose waves, or a small barrelled one for an all over curly look. Parted in the center or on the side, this versatile hairstyle looks super chic.

Why go for a long bob?

Firstly, we think bobs are a great hairstyle for fine hair because they really take the weight off and give volume to the hair. It's also a great alternative if you're dealing with dry and damaged, brittle ends (sometimes the best solution is to chop 'em off!). Finally, hair that dries more quickly and needs less styling in the morning means we get to stay in bed and sleep for ten extra minutes!

We're already thinking of all the extra z's we'll catch! Are you?
