Between Aishwarya Rai's bold blue shadow, Bianca Balti's glitter liner of the same shade, Miss Fame's electric red bob, bold liner, and the plethora of femme fatale-inspired gowns that hit the red carpet these past two weeks, it's safe to say that we've seen some pretty daring looks at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.
Yet one L'Oreal muse in particular took daring to a whole other level when she decided to change her hair colour for the event. Brazilian beauty Luma Grothe attended the festival for the second year in a row as a L'Oreal muse, giving us serious style envy once again. And after playing the retro diva on last year's red carpet, the brunette supermodel came back with a little more edge for this year's event.
This year, Luma stepped out onto the red carpet premiere of the film Julieta on May 17th, impressing us with a bold new hairstyle that had her beautiful brunette locks highlighted blue for the ultimate mermaid-inspired look. A few days later, she turned heads once again with her negative space liner, a look that Natasha Poly also showed off during the festival.

NEGATIVE SPACE LINER
Negative space liner – otherwise known as graphic liner or geometric shaped liner – has been no stranger to the runways over the past few seasons. Negative space liner aims to achieve two lines on the upper lid: one along the top lash line and another on the hollow of the eye. The two lines are then joined together in the form of a cat eye, leaving a space in-between the two lines for an edgy, dramatic look.
For her second time on the Cannes red carpet, Luma Grothe adopted the negative space trend at the L'Oreal Paris #blueobsession party on May 18th. With a dewy, luminous complexion, defined brows, a ponytail, and a baby blue slip dress, Luma looked like she received a little inspiration from the '90s – and we love it!
The 69th Cannes Film Festival saw L'Oreal Paris' #blueobsession take place, with celebs like Aishwarya Rai and Bianca Balti sporting blue liner and shadow for their appearances on the blue and red carpets. But until Luma Grothe stepped out for the premiere of Julieta, we hadn't seen a blue obsession like this before. Affirming her unique and edgy personality, the Brazilian muse added a touch of turquoise to her beautiful brunette locks, and opted for voluminous curls that gave her mermaid-esque look.
