Once the holiday season ends, we'll be anticipating the next big event where you can rock a full, glamorous face of makeup. The perfect time? Valentine's Day! After sporting glitzy metallic shadows and glitter lips throughout the month of December, Valentine's Day offers the opportunity to play around with bold looks that are a little more romantic.

Looking for love on Valentine's Day? We've got it in the form of smoky lids, warm complexions and the best red and pink lips you can imagine! Don't have a man? Who needs one with makeup looks like these!

Valentine's Day only comes once per year, so get inspired – or struck by cupid's bow – with these 3 looks we're crushing on!

VALENTINE'S DAY MAKEUP IDEAS

RED LINER + PINK LIPS

Want to try a simple nod to Cupid's holiday? Get inspired by Janelle Monae, who lined her lower lids with red shadow earlier this year. She complemented the red-eye beauty trend with a brown smoky shadow on top, and finished it off with a touch of soft pink lip gloss for the perfect combination of Valentine's Day's favourite colours!

To get this look, start off by unifying your base with a matte foundation. Warm up your complexion with a bronzing blush on your cheekbones, then enhance your cheekbones with a highlighting powder. Next, apply a medium brown shade of eyeshadow onto your upper eyelids, then go in with a darker shade of brown and blend it into your crease and brow bone. Use an angled brush to apply a red shadow underneath your lower lash line, extending it out past the outer corners. Finish off with mascara and a glossy pink lip!

PINK EVERYTHING

Pink is made for Valentine's Day, so why not apply it all-over like Kristen Stewart, a master of alternative beauty. She applied the girlish hue to her temples, cheeks, lids and lips for a look not intended for the faint-hearted.

To get this look, apply a pink blush onto your cheekbones after unifying your base with an illuminating liquid foundation. Move the blush brush up towards your temples, bringing the blush over your brows for a more intense look. Next, apply a medium grey shadow onto your upper lids, then layer it with a pink shadow (or blush) onto your brow bone, outer corners and lower lash line. Apply a shimmery silver shadow onto your inner corners then finish off with mascara and a glossy pink lip!

RED LIPS + ORANGE SHADOW

A red lip on Valentine's Day is a no-brainer, but paired with shimmery orange eye shadow? That's a stroke of genius. Take Kate Bosworth's look as your own and don't forget the bedazzled crown!

To achieve her look, unify your base with an illuminating liquid foundation, then warm up your cheekbones with a bronzing blush for a more romantic appeal. Apply a shimmery orange shadow onto your upper lids, outer corners and lower lash line, then enhance your lashes with a volumizing mascara. Complete your look with a matte red lip!
