The holiday season is one of the busiest times of the year. Between hustling and bustling around shopping centres, cooking over-the-top dinners and baked goods for parties with friends and family, and searching for the perfect outfits, we barely have any time left to spare to actually get ready for said parties.
Let's face it: A 10-minute makeup look usually consists of a touch of concealer to cover-up unevenness or blemishes, shadow or mascara and a bit of lip gloss before running out the door. Fortunately, Get The Look has come up with a way to achieve a full-on glamorous makeup look in just 10 minutes to help you prep and save time before your holiday parties.
A GLAM MAKEUP LOOK IN JUST 10 MINUTES
#1: APPLY MOISTURIZER WHEREVER SKIN IS SHOWING: After massaging your go-to face moisturizer into your skin, smooth on a body moisturizer wherever skin is looking dull. Having radiant, luminous skin on the body is just as important!
#2: APPLY A CREAMY FOUNDATION AND BLEND: Creamy formulas are great because they can be manipulated for light or heavy coverage. First, apply it with a foundation brush, then use a beauty blender to tap it into the skin for a melted effect.
#3: FILL IN YOUR BROWS, BUT DON'T OVERDO IT: To ensure you don't go overboard on your brows, concentrate on the outer corners of the brows, which lifts and elongates the face. Another must-do? Brushing through the product so that there are no harsh lines.
#4: PRIME THE LIDS: Skip eye primer and apply a foundation or concealer onto them to ensure your lids match your skin. Use a translucent powder to set them and keep excess oil at bay.
#5: APPLY SHADOW AND A FEW LAYERS OF LINER: After the lids are prepped, brush on an eye shadow colour of your choice. Then, layer on a few different eye liners for extra dimension. Make sure to tightline the roots of the upper and lower lashes to avoid seeing through the liner!
#6: APPLY CONCEALER AND BAKE: Apply a creamy concealer under your eyes, on your chin and down the bridge of your nose so that you can skip the highlighting step. Blend it out with a makeup sponge. Set your makeup using a translucent powder, them use a brush to lightly sweep it away.
#7: MOISTURIZE AND LIGHTLY LINE THE LIPS: To keep the pout natural, yet shiny and defined, trace the outline of the lips with a pinky-nude pencil (or depending on which colour lipstick you plan on wearing), then dab on balm for healthy-looking moisture and sheen.
#8: APPLY MASCARA: To achieve a false lash look, start from the base of the lashes, and wiggle the wand back and forth up the lashes, coating each and every last strand for volume and thickness.
#9: CONTOUR: When you're in a quick pinch, use a powder to contour your cheekbones, nose, temples, and jawline. Set everything with a loose powder and voila!
