Let's be honest – when it comes to getting ready in the morning, we're lazy. And as much as we love makeup, most of us are more likely to silence our alarms once or twice (or three times) in the morning, rather than spend half an hour primping and prepping (we do need our beauty sleep)!
That being said, women and beauty devotees out there still do need a few minutes of time in the morning to apply a handful of clutch products. That's why Get The Look is here to give you a five-minute makeup routine that will get you out the door looking great and (relatively) on time. So, without further ado here's a few products you can lean on when you're three snooze buttons in, or just don't feel like busting out the six-step contour palettes.
THE ULTIMATE 5-MINUTE MAKEUP ROUTINE
If you're the type to hit the snooze button over and over again, it's about time you ditch the foundation step in your morning beauty routine. While foundation is great for creating a unified and flawless base, it isn't totally necessary because it takes the most time to apply and can often make your face look flat and dull when you're already exhausted. Instead, cover up blemishes and unevenness by patting a few dabs of concealer over blemishes, into the corners of your nose, under your eyes, and around your lips to highlight them. You can even apply a line of concealer along the high points of your cheekbones and down the bridge of your nose as a substitute for highlighter.
The best part about this trick? It won't leave you feeling cake-y, and will allow your natural glow to shine through now that your face isn't covered in foundation.
Taking one extra minute to sweep on blush makes the biggest difference when it comes to looking awake and fresh in the morning. Opt for a pink or peach blush shade that's closest to your natural flush so that even if you don't have time to blend it just right, it will still look great! Apply it using a fluffy blush brush onto the apples of your cheeks (and one dot on the tip of your nose for added rosiness)!
Our 5-minute makeup routine doesn't exactly leave time for complicated contouring techniques, but thanks to L'Oreal's Pro Contour Palette, all it takes is one single swipe to achieve a perfectly sculpted look. Simply swipe the palette's brush through both the contour and highlight shade at once, then transfer the product onto your cheeks!
No matter how little makeup you wear, most women can't go without a touch of mascara. To skip the long process of sweeping on as many coats of mascara as you like, try this single-swipe trick: Instead of wiping the tip clean after you pull the brush out of the formula, dot that excess pigment onto your lashes, then use the plastic wand to comb it through. The result is deep, dark, full lashes in a single dip.
As for the lips, sweep on a lipstick or balm that's close to your natural lip colour so that you can avoid the process of lip lining and fixing up any smudges of dark lip colour that may end up on your face. You can even do this as you walk down the street (or to your car) on the way to work!
