Makeup tutorial: a metallic cat eye from Paris Fashion Week

by Hannah Ikin -

Paris Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2014-2015 has come and gone, but we're still feeling inspired by all of the great beauty looks. Take, for example, this graphic cat eye beauty look, which we spotted at the Junko Maeda show.

Wings

Winged eyeliner is a huge beauty trend for spring, and the bigger and bolder the wings, the better. At the Junko Maeda show, the models walked the runway with elongated cat eye flicks. Whereas most of the graphic cat eyes that we have seen so far were done in classic black, this one is in gold.

This metallic edge certainly brings a touch of drama to the look, which makes it a great one to work if you've got a party or a formal event coming up. There's nothing like a touch of gold, silver or bronze to add a touch of sparkle to your look.

Get the look

To get this super shiny beauty look you'll need to get your hands on a metallic eyeliner in gold, silver or bronze. Once you've got one, you're good to go!

Step one: Start by camouflaging blemishes with concealer. Then apply a light BB cream or illuminating foundation to get a glowing complexion.

Step two: Grab a highlighting pencil and use it to bring light to your eyes by dabbing on the inner corners of eyes and lining your lower lashline.

Step three: Take your metallic eyeliner and line your upper lash line with it. Then, draw a cat eye flick, taking it all the way out to directly below the end of eyebrow.

Step four: Apply a couple of coats of mascara to your top lashes (but leave the bottom ones as they are to avoid an OTT look).

Step five: Finish your look with a touch of pink blush on your cheeks and some pink lip gloss.

So there you have it, a party-ready cat eye look. Now, to the dance floor!
