On July 8, 2014 actress/model Lily Collins attended the Chanel presentation at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris, France. The British-American star looked as stunning as ever in an on-trend monochrome sweater with floral motif and an eye-catching metallic red and silver striped pencil skirt. She accessorized with a bold red fringe bag to add a touch of boho-chic to her look and styled her mid-length hair into tousled curls.
It was Lily's makeup, however, that was the star of her look! A high-style smoky eye framed her hazel eyes and added some serious attitude to an otherwise low-key and natural look. So, want to try it? Here's how...
A haute couture smoky eye
Step one: Start by applying matte foundation, using a brush or sponge to achieve the most flawless finish. Then, use concealer to mask dark circles or imperfections. Bring radiance and warmth to your face with a pink matte blush on the apples of your cheeks- don't forget: for the most natural look, blend, blend, blend!
Step two: Fill in your brows using a pencil. Start by drawing the shape first and then brushing through to blend the product.
Step three: Apply eyeshadow primer around your eyes. Then, cover your entire eyelid with nude eyeshadow. Next, use liquid liner and draw a thin line along both lash lines, stopping at the other corner of the eye.
Next, use a small, domed eyeshadow brush to apply black eyeshadow along the top and bottom lash lines. At the outer corner of the eye, apply the product slightly outward as if you were doing a cat eye, and then continue the line along the creaseline, stopping mid-way in. Now, use your trusty blending brush and blend along all of the lines you just created. Finish your look with two coats of lengthening mascara.
Step four: Use a matte lip pencil in a rosy-nude shade and apply it all over your lips.
