It was Men's Fashion Week A/W 2014 in Milan this weekend, and a good chance to compare with what was on show for the recent London Fashion Week. So here are our key observations for men's fashion trends, Autumn/Winter 2014, courtesy of Get the Look's trend radar:
Last season we saw animal prints roaring down the catwalk. But for A/W 2014, be prepared to be surprised! Print has developed a sense of humor, and designers have been getting creative with unusual, unexpected and quirky prints like these Dolce and Gabbana blazers embossed with elaborate keyholes and ornate architecture. It's all about whimsy.
What's one of the only good things about Fall? Being able to wear gorgeous, swishy long coats! 2014 will see an autumnal palette (dark reds, black, forest green, navy blue, brown and grey) given a facelift with new patterns: Iceberg's long coats offered a graphic interpretation of plaid, for example.
Move over ladies, the men are back in town, and they're looking to take over the feminine silhouette. Phillip Plein's thick woollen shawls, belted at the waist, had the girls sharpening their claws in fashion envy.
Super tight pants are sooo 2013. You heard it here. You may even have seen proof of it all over the catwalk. Take Vivienne Westwood's loose, tailored collection, for example. Relieved? You can all breathe out now.
Pop of color
Dressing for winter doesn't mean dressing for a funeral. Fashion brand Costume National gave us hope with their bright pops of color and fearless approach to clashing. Electric pink pants with a dark byzantium blazer? Why not! You can do it, boys!
