This year's dazzling Met Gala theme, 'China: Through The Looking Glass' drew out an incredible assortment of creative and wonderful styles from some of our favorite celebrities on May 4. From full-plummage trains to glistening dragon designs, New York City played host to an incredible dream-like red carpet, and we have picked our top looks from the night for you to get a closer look!
Sheer, illusionary gowns were definitely one of the hottest red carpet trends of the night, seeing the likes of both Beyonce and Kim Kardashian bare nearly-all in nude-effect, glittering gowns. However, we particularly fell for Jennifer Lopez' sensual red Versace take on the look, with its gorgeous dragon embellishment to suite the theme. The L'Oréal Paris ambassador then completed the look with sultry red eyeshadow and nude lips.
From J-Lo to J-Law, we can never get enough of one of Hollywood's most flawless darlings: Jennifer Lawrence. The 24-year-old Academy Award winning actress kept things simple and sophisticated in this cut-out Dior dress, pulling her hair back into a chic tousled bun and using a light smoky eye. The Hunger Games star perfectly matched her girly, flowery detailing with a fruity pink lip: true red carpet inspiration!
From one L'Oréal Paris ambassador to another, Karlie Kloss knows how to turn heads on the red carpet wherever she goes! She rocked the red carpet in this beaded Versace number with a sheer skirt, teaming the look with sultry, dark eyes and a nude lipstick. In true Karlie style, she kept her hair tousled and wavy with her very on-trend blonde long bob: gorgeous!
Among those daring to flare their fashion creativity on the Met Ball red carpet was Vanessa Hudgens in this stunning vintage cocktail dress by H&M. Red was definitely the 'it' color of the evening, but we loved Vanessa's bold take on a color classic, with the black netted veil and fabulous eye-makeup: she really showed us how to work thick false lashes with a smoky cat-eye flick!
Last but certainly not least, model and actress Emily Ratajkowski glowed on the red carpet in this nude fitted Topshop dress with gorgeous flower embroidery and gold heels. Elegant and perfectly in line with the Gala theme, we love this look for how Emily has finished it with some easy beauty essentials: a smooth center-parted bun, dramatic smoky eyes and a shimmering nude pout.
